Aurora Aksnes was born on June 15th 1996 in Stavanger and known professionally as Aurora sometimes stylized in uppercase as AURORA is an Norwegian singer and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, was released in May of 2015 by Decca Records to great approval by music blogs and the media. Half the World Away, by the Oasis group for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy, by Nat King Cole are two of the most well-known covers by the artist. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical experiences include discovering the piano in her attic and discovering the music it created. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes, and Jan Oystein Aksnes urged Aurora Aksnes on to try music as an activity or profession. So she started making her own lyrics. She has cited renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan for inspiration, as well as an affinity for Bjork's style.
